HARDWICK & MOSS Privacy notice

Privacy notice

Last updated 10 September 2026. What we do with your details, and theirs.

1

Who we are

Hardwick & Moss is an independent novelty letter service operating from the United Kingdom, and is the data controller for the information described here.

Contact us about anything on this page at hello@hardwickandmoss.com.

2

What we collect

From you: your name, your email address, and whatever you write in the grievance field.

About the recipient: their name and postal address. We need it to post the letter and we use it for nothing else.

Payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store card details.

3

Why we hold it

To perform the contract you entered into: to write the letter, print it, and post it. That is our lawful basis.

We keep a record of the transaction because we are required to retain financial records, and we keep addresses on a suppression list where somebody has asked not to receive anything further.

We never use any of it for marketing and we will not add you or the recipient to a mailing list.

4

The recipient's details

The person receiving the letter did not give us their address, you did. So we hold the minimum: name and address only, used once, then deleted when the order closes.

If a recipient contacts us we will tell them who sent the letter, since the sender's name is printed on it anyway, and we will honour any request to be suppressed or erased immediately.

5

Who else sees it

A small number of providers process data on our behalf:

  • ·Formspree receives and relays your order
  • ·Stripe processes your payment
  • ·Vercel hosts this website

We do not sell data, share it with advertisers, or pass it to anyone else.

6

How long we keep it

Order details are deleted once the letter has been posted and the refund window has closed, other than the transaction record we must retain and any suppression entry.

Ask us to delete your details sooner and we will, provided the letter has already gone.

7

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Email hello@hardwickandmoss.com and we will respond within a month, usually the same day.

If you think we have handled your information badly you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather you told us first.
